I have a 15 week old, and he's been very erratic with his feeding from the beginning. He appeared to have a milk lactose intolerance when he was born, which he seemed to have grown out of by 8 weeks.
Now, we have trouble getting him to settle down after his feed. He seems not as bad during the day, but at night he wakes about every 3 hours and guzzles down 6-7oz!! I know this is pretty much normal (altough still a shock to my system as my first slept through from 6 weeks! :) ) , but our problem is trying to settle him back down to sleep after. He moans and cries as soon as you put him down, he jut seems to want to be held by one of us all the time. If we hold him he stops crying and smiles!!!!!!! But as soon as we lay him down he screams the place down! Not good when we have our 2 year old in the next room!
I really dont know what to do, I know hes too young for controlled crying, but we need some sleep. I dont mind getting up to feed, but this is all night now :(

sounds just like my 16 week old daughter lol... she has reflux and bad wind or colic i am in Australia I'm not sure where u r but there is a few products the one i use is called"infants friend" it is an all natural type liquid you give it to them in a medicine syringe and it helps relieve wind and discomfort there is also one called "gripe water" go and see your local chemist/drugstore and ask if they have something like this available it works wonder for me and if it is not this problem it wont hurt baby as it is all natural ingredients they cant have too much and you can use it as often as you need to my baby has it before every feed. also a trip to the doctor would not hurt just to make sure it is nothing more serious.. also try feeding in the dark so not to fully wake baby up and baby massage bending the legs up and down to relive stomach cramps caused by wind and also i would try to place my hand on his tummy and pat him softly just to let him know you are there instead of picking him up to settle him all the time. one other thing that helps me with my 4 year old as well is to use something the same every time it is sleep time i use a mobile i just wind it up and put her down they will soon realise this music means bed time good luck i know how u feel.. lol

He's a smart little devil isn't he? first of all make sure there is nothing medically wrong, and then I would suggest controlled comforting. Kind of like controlled crying. You can get the info from Dr Chris Greens book. I think it is even in his original book "Toddler taming" I think this book is called "Baby Taming?"

maybe he needs more from the bottle or maybe he needs to be burped more? but i am sorry to say it too, it could also be colic. from what you said it seems to be the beginning of it.

talk to your doctor and good luck!
