- people being a little nicer than normal
- the Christmas lights
- hanging out with my in-laws
- the joy of celebrating Jesus' "birthday" each year
- seeing the wonder & awe in my kids' eyes

the lights in the streets during the holidays: it feels like a party just taking a walk after dark!
the smell of evergreen around the xmas trees: and you don't need to buy a tree to enjoy this
more than all, the build up expectation for something fun: that is what make jan and feb so much harder!!! nothing to look forward to. I like to put off some holidays partying, and postpone it to jan... so there is something fun in my future!

hearing favorite Christmas songs
baking with family members
watching my 2 year old decorate just the bottom half of the tree because that's all he can reach
decorating sugar cookies
seeing the neighbors houses lit up with Christmas lights
watching the kids open thier presents and stockings
watching the old Christmas specials that I loved as a kid, with my kids ( Rudolph, Frosty, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, "Twas the Night Before Christmas...)

nope? all season are the same and good for me, and truthfully is most depressing time of year for most people. More suicides during this time of year than any other season
