I like to read realistic fiction and the occasional biography or mystery.

Well, there is genre for fiction and the genre for non-fiction.
When it comes to fiction, I prefer short stories, and the classical Greek and Roman works.
Non-fiction, I do occasionally read biographies and military history, but my favorite non-fiction genre is analytic philosophy.

historical biography, non fiction novel, self help ... i will read almost anything that gets me from the first page, but i just cannot get into sci-fi or fantasy type books.

Historical Fiction, SciFi/Fantasy, and Anthropology text. All teach us things about our societies and cultures...our downfalls and our potential.
