Black Sabbath gets my vote because they were the first and almost every metal band (especially doom metal) draw some sort of influence from them. Why didn't you include Judas Priest in the choices?

Classic? Black Sabbath is the grand father of Metal. Megadeth and Metallica are Trash and Speed Metal. They are classic and imortal. But the best Thrash and Speed band ever is Slayer. Pick up Show No Mercy and find out why.
