You will need to convert the .wmv file to Flash Video (.flv) to be able to play in Flash Player. You can convert to the Flash Video codec in any of the following ways.
1. Flash MX 2004 Professional or Flash 8 Professional Authoring environment
2. Flash Video Encoder (comes with Flash MX 2004 and 8 Professional)
3. Sorenson Squeeze 4.5
4. Submit the file to YouTube and it will convert to .flv

its very unreliable to do it that way.
if you have Flash mx 2004 (or Flash 8) it comes with the flash video encoder. ITs best to use native flash video features than to try and import a video into flash.
