When writing an autobiography, you focus on three major things:

1) who you are in life,
2) what life means to you and
3) what your outlook on the future is.
4) the past, the present and the future

"Autobiographies have been written since A.D. 400 when an early Christian leader, Saint Augustine, wrote his." An autobiography is information about one's own life written by that one person. In it, it tells what that person's life is all about. When writing your own autobiography, use interesting facts to explain as much about yourself as you can.

And the best thing to write Autobiography is during your spare time in the evening before retiring.

I think that right after something majorly major has happened in your life or when you are at a good point in your life that would make it a happy ending of you autobiography. Also, there is always keeping a journal. Than you can go back later on in your life and choose good spot. Plus, you won't have to worry about remembering.

Hmmm... why not write three versions - two unpublished, and the third a merge of them all, seen from the viewpoint of a lived and examined life? The first version when you are 20-25 and still have all the memories and feelings of childhood and youth fresh in your mind; the second version when you are 50 and have experience enough to reflect over your life more critically and more thoughtfully. And then the last version, the one to be published, when you are 75-80 and hopefully have forgiven yourself and the others whom you write about, so that you can do it with kindness. Or - if you haven't and if you can't - at least have enough of them dead so that they can't be hurt (and can't get back at you...)

after you've done something people would want to read about and preferabbly when your life is long enough to fill up an entire book.
