I have read that this could be ligaments. Is this too early for this to be happening. I have been to the doctor and booked in for a scan just to make sure everything is in the right place. They aren't too concerned about it. This is my first pregnancy and i am a little anxious.

I know exactly what it is. I went through the same thing a few weeks ago. My doctor did an tranvaginal ultrasound and your follicles in your ovary that released the egg fills up with fluid. This is normal. It is a good sign showing that your body is producing progesterone. All women do not feel this. I had it on both sides (I am having twins) and it would come and go. It is very uncomfortable, but it will subside as the cyst start to shrink. Mine went away around 5 1/2 weeks. I hope this helps. Good luck to you.

I also am about five weeks pregnant and still having sharp pains, but i have found that it's normal as your body is getting ready for all the big changes that are going to happen in the next nine months.
1. try sleeping with support around your left side
2. try having a hot bath to relax the pain
3. Rub your left side like a massage ask your partner
4. Take things easy don't do to much work as the 1st 3months are critical.

Honey don't worry, it is normal to have cramping and sharp pains, that is just a sign of your body getting ready for pregnancy, i had it with all 3 of my kids, however if you start to bleed or if you just can't stop worrying about it then just give your doctor a call, it's his job to reassure you and make sure that everything is fine, after all, it is better to be safe than sorry!! Good luck and congrats!! Motherhood is wonderful!!

It's a little early for pain from ligaments. But it is probably no reason for too much worry. Pregnancy will give you all kinds of strange pains! :-)

Don't be too concerned about it, your doc isn't. It sounds like normal, albeit scary, stuff to me.
