Indo Dude, you are probably not a Singaporean. I am a Singaporean living here for more than 20 years and I have never ever found or bought fakes. I simply can't find them!
Electronic goods are slightly cheaper in Singapore than in other countries but I wouldn't suggest going out of your way to save maybe $20 and spend $2000 on the air ticket if you know what I mean. But otherwise, if that is only part of your itinerary to shop for electronics then Singapore has the best bargains. Go to Sim Lim Square for even greater deals.

I have found prices on GENUINE electronics to be more expensive than buying on the Web. This is for two digital cameras and a laptop bought within the past two years. Singapore is full of branded fakes and stripped-down items as well as software that does not work. If you do buy electronics, be very careful, especially if the price is too good to be true.
I would go to China Town or Little India for something to take back home.

Yes, absolutely - ONLY if you know what you want.

Sim Lim Square is a good place to find the cheapest equipment and they're tax free. Be wary of touts and shady sellers who will upsell to tourists and foreigners. My advice is to alwasy do as much research as you want on the product that you want, BEFORE you get to the stores. When you're there, go from one store to another and ask for the price, quoting the exact model that you want. You'll be surprised to find after the 5th store, the seller will come forward proactively offering you a cheaper price for the item you desire! (Word-Of-Mouth communications is truly alive and well in Sim Lim Square)

Yes they are cheaper. But DO NOT go to SIM LIM square or any other place that has the word SIM LIM on it. This is because you run the risk of getting fakes or dodgy goods.

Go to FUNAN CENTRE and expect to save maybe 15-20% compared to say Europe or US. If you are offered a greater saving, be suspicious.
