That depends on the drug and the reason or purpose for taking it. I believe recreational drug use is not only fun for some people, but an important part of human development. Many straight folks will disagree with me, but what do they know about any of it? They live safe little lives of boredom.

But there is a huge difference between recreational drug use and drug abuse. When you start self medicating to dull the pain, you are crossing over into something dangerous. When you take drugs all alone, with little or no intention of having fun, then you are doing something dangerous. When you inject drugs or find yourself "needing" them, then it's time to visit a psychologist who can help you with whatever problems are ailing you.

If you are talking about things like medicinal marajuana, I think that they should allow it, but if you are talking about street selling, That is totally out of hand. The police don't take enough measures to prevent it.
