I read this alternative magazine, and noticed this book was advertised, published and for sale. It was called "Dummies guide to terrrorism" On the cover had a diagram of bomb making. Is this legal?

That would depend on the country.

Within the 'Western Democracies' (European Union Nations, US, Canada, etc) it is certainly legal.

However, if searched and its found you may be hassled.

The nice thing about getting hassled is that you then have grounds for a law suit for harassment... and you end up being a liberal cause hero.

So its a win-win situation if you're willing to take the risk.

It is legal in the United States of America to posses any book, no matter how subversive or dangerous it may seem. The fact that books have been banned by various instituions or persons is usually about what certain persons or governing bodies of institutions wish to censure, but that does not mean that they are illegal, it means the book or books have been withheld from distribution or further distribution. You are free to posses any book you wish in the United States without legal duress.
