Not sure what the rules are these days...........but it used to apply to couples who had been married less than a specified number of years (forget precisely). So, to qualify for divorce you had to be seperated for 2 years before you could file for divorce. By the way, that didn't necessarily mean living in seperate accommodation but did mean being able to prove such things as not cooking, washing or doing anything for the spouse which would suggest living a shared lifestyle.

If you are saying "Can a two year separation save a marriage" I would say it is too long. A trial separation of say, six months, should show you whether you can live happily (or happier) without your partner. Or whether you miss him/her too much to continue the separation.

By staying separated is my guess.
Or if you mean that once you've been separated for two years you can then divorce your x claiming ireconcilable differences then......

basically after 2 years seperation you can divorce on the grounds of breakdown in the relationship and it wont cost you half as much as it would normally, provided there are no childen involved

it means you register the date you parted and in two years time you may divorce with out blame,just on the basis that you have not been together for that period of time.
