No I wouldnt. The Kuwaitis are by and large nice people (unless you are Indian) but they consider everyone else second class (except the Indians who are third or fourth class). I'm not Muslim and even I was ashamed at how they treated their fellow Musims who happened to be Indian.

The biggest problem in Kuwait is that the people would be on their asses if not for the oil. The Kuwaitis are by and large schooled but not educated. most educated people have a sense of how much they don't know and become more humble for it. Kuwaitis think they know a lot when in actuality they don't.

Also they are very lazy. Notice how most restaurants have drive ins? My take was always that they had drive ins because they were too lazy to even get out of their car to eat.

Walk around in the Sultan Centre sometime. Notice how the Kuwaitis are the only ones who don't know how to line up or say please or say thank you?

It's a good place to make money. To be a consultant earning 6000 KD was a sweet deal and the only thing which made the country suck was the Kuwaiti people. The other people who came there to work from other parts of the world were great.

Kuwait is nice, but you need plenty of $$$$ to live there and be able to enjoy it. The weather is bloody awful in the summer, but if you have the benefit of said $$$$, you can do what all the Kuwaitis do and leave for those couple of months when it turns into an incinerator.

There are no bars, but a good night life with tons of fabulous restaurants and coffeeshops - you can get alcohol fairly easily, although it's illegal, but again with the $$$$.

The Kuwaitis are very open-minded, hospitable, kind and the most well educated group of people I have ever experienced. I've lived in the Gulf (but not Kuwait) for two years, and it's nice, but I can't help but feel like there is no place like home.....

I am from India, presently working in Kuwait. I love this country, but not willing to settle here permanently. I could not give up my roots of my motherland.

No.

Don't speak the language.

I have a bad back and really can't carry around an M-16 or AK-47 all day.

They don't serve booze.

The women are all covered up, so you can't check out the chicks.

Hell no. I'm not wearing a burqua and covering my face up for nobody! Not to mention giving up pork and booze! I'll stay in my beloved Southland, thank you very much.
