Read about Xbox 360 and it seems to be a better choice than PS3 for the moment.
The thing is i seen on their site that u gotta pay 200$ for the HD-DVD drive, while the PS3 has the Blu-Ray from start.
Does the new Xboxes have HD-DVD too from start or just as an addon?

My only concern is that soon the games simply wont fit on regular 4gb dvd.

HD-DVD movies are not much higher quality than DVDs. In fact they will look almost the same. Sure they look better but not worth paying for the player and $8 more per movie. Most DVDs sell around $14 now and HD-DVDs go for $20. It's not worth it to go HD-DVD. Don't worry, nobody is using PS3 for blu-ray anyway. Blu-ray is actually worse than DVD. I've done hands-on research. HD-DVD will not be built into the 360 for some time if they ever are. For at least the next 4 months they are an add-on. Don't expect them to be built in anytime soon.
Both media types won't go far, the industry analysts expect them both to fail. Even on the best HDTV, it's not worth the price.

It will be an add-on because Microsoft does not want to pissed off all of us who has bought a xbox 360. It's nice to have the HD-dvd or Blu-Ray included but do you really want to use the consoles as a dvd player?? A stand alone dvd player would do a much better job than the consoles. Sony, in their arrogant way, is forcing people to pay for a Blu-ray drive if you want a ps3.

the dvd hd component is $200 extra but not completely necessary. i think it takes a really keen eye to tell the difference and for me $200 is too steep for a barely noticeable difference.
blu ray isn't guaranteed to catch on. still kind of an unknown.
overall the 360 destroys the ps3 in terms of games, online play, controller and definitely value.
