It is simple, people vote for the name they recognize. The majority of voters don't CARE. They are taught that it is their CIVIC DUTY to vote. NO IT ISN'T. It is your CIVIC DUTY to be an INFORMED voter. There is a major difference there. If I go and vote straight ticket just because I belong to the party then I am not doing my civic duty. If I go and vote because hey I recognize that name, although I can't remember why, then I am not doing my civic duty. If I learn about what the person claims to believe and claims they will do in office, and then find out what his opponent says on the same subject well then I can make an INFORMED vote and I should be voting.
