goodbye... cuz when you say goodbye, it doesn't mean you're going to see that person again so it's more appropriate. or if you're gonna say 'see you later', at least say it completely: 'see you later alligator.' 'in a while crocodile' ^ ^

I prefer "see you later". Goodbye sounds too permanent, like you will never see the person again. See you later, to me, means I want and hope to see you again soon.

See you Later.... if it is to someone that you know you want to see later again,
but as for Goodbye.....actually, its not good to say goodbye to anyone. you never know whats going to happen....

See Ya..Goodbye is so final..My step-dad's wife died of cancer years ago and if your talking to him on the phone and your getting ready to hang up he says nothing when you say see ya or anything else like goodbye..he just hangs up..If you didn't know him you would think he's rude but I can understand..That's probably the last thing he said to her and it was final!!!!!!

well, i've said goodbye to someone who's passed away, but NEVER tried See U Later... so if ur friend's still alive and healthy(or u wish him/her to be), plz don't use goodbye.
