Your sound card is in your computer, either plugged into a PCI slot or built into the motherboard. You need to figure out what kind of sound card you have. Either look at the documentation that came with your computer, or double click on the little speaker in the bottom right of your screen. When the window opens, look in the bottom left corner. The name should be there (such as soundblaster live, Audio 97 or whatever) Then do a google with driver and the name of your sound card in it (soundblaster driver).

Speakers don't need drivers unless they are USB. Check to make sure that the USB root is installed properly if they are USB. Standard analog speakers do not require drivers to function properly. Make sure the speakers are connected to the proper jack in the sound card. Most have 3, one for line-in, speaker-out and a microphone.
The sound card is located on the PCI bus on the motherboard. Turn your system off, turn it around and make sure of the connections. You can also check the manufactures website or any documentation that came with your system.

nicely someone in our highway has a computing device whose soundcard and USB ports packed up. Very extraordinary. some thing else seems ok. i have made it very last more by installation a cheap 4x + a million int USB card from ebay for round a tenner; ran a extention cable from the inner USB to the front with slightly of ingenuity. Then I were given a secondhand soundcard it extremely is known by XP SP2. I also put in the SP2 community replace severe and ran extra updates so now no longer SP1 utilizing my cyber web connection by a instant USB community card. with regard to drivers no longer being signed, you need to be in a position to position in besides. in spite of being signed or no longer - only see you later because it really is the perfect motive force. also look interior the BIOS and once you've default sound there, turn it off. it may conceal itself in case you upload a sparkling card, yet maximum conflict. examine My computing device/Hardware/device manager and word if the default soundcard has any mistakes by it earlier including a sparkling card. it should be a motive force fault. in which case in case you'll discover the drivers on-line do, if no longer, get a soundcard XP SP2 knows. the only on the computing device I fastened had no drivers everywhere - some a dull ringer for AC'97 thingy and by no skill some thing labored. became more low-priced (and extra worthwhile to me) to get one secondhand for £3 - because it became taking too a lot time attempting to fix it! i imagine it were lifeless.

The sound card is onboard i.e. on the motherboard. Its drivers are on the CD which came bundled with the PC / motherboard. In case the sound card is an add on card and not onboard, then the dricver CD must have come bundled with the sound card. Put the CD in the CD ROM drive and install the drivers.
