Above are correct. You will know. I hate remembering this, but, when my wife miscarried. She called me from the bathroom, she had just gone to pee and felt nothing. I came and she was sitting on the toilet with bloody hands and paper. She looked at me and said; "Something is wrong". We knew, but, went to the Hospital and they verified. So, I know this all sound gross, but, pain or no pain, you will bleed when you should not! :-(

when i miscarried i had vaginal bleeding but it was not heavy and no clots were in it. The color was red to brown. I was so tired and i hurt badly in my stomach and back. I was 5 weeks when i miscarried.
I did not know though that i was pregnant. I had my period for that month but then started having all the above symptoms 4 days after stopping my period. I thought maybe it was a second period (even though i don't do that).
After a few days of this i went to the er and found out i was both pregnant and miscarrying. I was admitted to the hospital overnight and the next day when i got out i wasn't hurting or bleeding so if i hadn't of gone to the er i would have never known.
A pregnancy test will show you are pregnant up to eight weeks after miscarrying due to the pregnancy hormone still in your system so buy a test if you think that you did or go to the doctor.

Miscarriage really hurts, severe cramps followed by at least 10 days of heavy bright red bleeding. Its also very clumpy and thick. You would be very tired and feel nauseous, maybe even a headache. If you were 8 weeks along or more you really need to be seen by a doc to be sure everything is removed. Before 6 weeks you'll be ok.

Well, I miscarried once. I was bleeding, had really bad cramps, and there was clotty looking material in the discharge. I went to the doctor and they confirmed that I miscarried. A day or two after I started bleeding the embryo came out. I was about 9 weeks pregnant. Hope that helps and I hope you aren't miscarrying!

the first answer is true, but miscarriages in the first couple weeks of pregnancy are actually incredibly common, and most people dont even know it has happened. since you are asking this question you are probably further along (or thinking of someone as being further along), but i just thought i would give you another view.
