While in orbit,what if an intellegence from unknown,threatens the mission or shuttle.Is there any preperations the anstranouts are given in case of an encounter.

its hardly nassau, its nasa National Air and Space Administration. i dont think anyone in nasa seriously thinks there are little green men. wake up kiddo

We've never found any evidence of extraterrestrial intelligence so the NASA policy is not to worry about something that WILL NOT HAPPEN when they can put their resources into preparing for something that actually might.

Besides, if an intelligent alien with superior technology wanted the shuttle gone (or our species) there's not really anything we'd be able to do about it.
