I know you are talking about south city. If you like Italian and are hungry. Go to the Garden Club. It's on Mission. In the Shopping center by Salvation Army. It's a bar on the outside but you walk through and there's a cute small restaurant in back. It's fabualous. They only take cash though!

My favorite Chinese place is behind Mr Pizza man - around the corner from el camino and orange. Sky Dragon!

If you want Diner food go out to Millbrae on Elcamino to Peter's Cafe - they have an awesome steak salad.

Definitely Maggiano's little Italy in the San Jose area, You can even find wonderfull shopping malls with many premium outlets next door to the restraunt and can also have enough privacy when you are two or can party well as a group it's really a vibrant place to dine.
