I bought my 12 year old son a PSP for christmas, I got him 3 movies and 1 game for it. I also bought him a 1 gig memory stick and several other accessories for it. Do I need to buy him more games for it, or is that enough? He has $100 in birthday money he could buy his own games with after christmas. I don't want him to be disapointed.

Just in case you were wondering why I got him 3 movies and only 1 game. The Terminator movies are his favorite movies of all time. So I got him Terminator 1, 2 and 3. They just all happened to be at the same store all at the same time so I just picked them up together.

You over did yourself! That should be plenty. Buying movies for that system is in my opinion a waste of money. Games are a much better idea for a 12 year old, who will most likely watch the movie once, then trade it in for a game. Feel confident in your purchase, the psp is a good device, and has many new products coming out for it... unlike many other systems now. MERRY CHRISTMAS

Standard practice for parents purchasing in the video game field is actually only one game. If the system breaks over $200, many times parents won't even get their children games. Be aware that though the PSP has been out for well over a year it has a very low number of games. For a 12 year old though, that seems like more than most parents would ever give.

The 3 movies are okay, since they are his favourites.
The 1 game, that depends. But since he got $100 in birthday money he could buy his own games or trade the ones he got.
I say that he got enough for now. Feel free to buy him more though if you like, just make sure they are his favourites.

Actually, it sounds like you have the perfect bundle. I was going to suggest one game, but you've done more! Three movies, a came and all of the accessories are more than enough. If you want to toss in another game, get one that has multiple games on it. We have a PS2 and we have two Sega Pack games (as well as several other games). Between the two games, there are nearly thirty different Sega classics. But basically what you want to do is get him a starter kit, and sounds like you've done great!

I don't think that he would be disappointed with what he will be getting. I also think that he would enjoy picking out his own game. If you want to buy him one more, I would suggest for it to be a different type of setting in the game. For instance; if you bought him something like sonic, then I would get him something like auto racing or a combat game if he is into that. You don't want to give him 2 games that are similar to each other.

That sounds about right I have 3 teenage boys so I understand. However I would maybe get him a gift card to say block busters so he can rent a few games before he waste his money to buy a game he may not like , since they are non returnable once they are opened.

That sounds like a great gift to me. I think that if he's disappointed with that then you should take the whole system away along with the movies and the games b/c he sounds kinda spoiled.

I don't see how anyone could be dissapointed with that. Unless the one game you got him totally sucks I would not worry too much.
