Well...there is no question that the BBC presents things from more of a global perspective than the others...which could be said to be evidence of their being objective. Their view is, though, undeniably British. CNN and FOX News are not objective at all. They represent opposite extremes of the American political dichotomy (I watch CNN.) MSNBC claims to hug the middle, which can also be taken for objectivity, but they present for their target audience, the American people, making them not objective from the point of view of some. I can't speak for the CBC.

What? CBC is a lot better than BBC. CNN and Fox, well they are just ridiculous. CBC is fairly objective although they are somewhat left-leaning. They question politicians and force them to give a decent answer regardless of what party that politician belongs to. BBC, I personally believe, is bias, of course not as bias as CNN or Fox, but they somewhat support their own government and sometimes generalize about things. CBC is way better than BBC and the news-reporters on BBC sounds like they are screaming or talking very aggresively sometimes. GOooo Peter Mansbridge!

BBC is more thoughtful - better overall reporting, more in depth stories. CNN is often newslight with limited information. Fox is a shill for the Administration - last weekend there was a panel discussion about Al Qaeda and how it was going to crash Wall Street and the banking industry. Except for one panelist, every expert said it wasn't possible with the redundancies and backups and all that have been in place. The woman reporter who raised the issue ignored the vast majority of the experts and kept on saying it was going to happen. Just more useless fear mongering by Fox. And this doesn't even touch on their ongoing b*******t about the "culture wars". Just more right wing nonsense.

It's more like the BBC doesn't have the FCC breathing down their neck. The FCC controlls what is aired in North America on the major networks especially. It has nothing to do with the networks, just the country. Our networks are banned from broadcasting some types of media because it can bring a sour element to what our government is doing. Although it is pointless since everyone already believes our government is wrong about what they are doing, mostly just Bush.
There have been reports about this in the past. The media in the USA are required to uphold certain standards when dealing with fragile affairs like Iraq. They don't want a public uprising.

Yes and no.

CNN International is usually on par with the BBC, but both overhype, exaggerate and downright lie when it's convenient. Just not as frequently as the other networks listed. Especially Fox News have a lot of history with selective and inaccurate journalism.

Let us be objective, who gives you money owe you.
The BBC is based on donations and it's not funded by any governmental or any political party, so it's more objective and trustful than CBS, FOX, or CNN. These channels represent a political agenda, while BBC doesn't.
ALL the best for you.
