This is our project in Physics. We are told to search for an example of how to make an improvised steamboat and create it. But I can't find anything in the sites that I went to. These are yahoo.com, google.com, msn.com, investigatoryproject.com, science.com, and physics.com. If you have an idea on making an improvised steamboat or if you know any site where I can find an example, please kindly help me. Thanks!

a small boat can be fabricated, use an old oil can (the type with a skinny bendable neck), Run the tube out the bottom back of the boat, boil the water in the can with a *fuel pellet in a tuna can underneath(*camping store) and ya git steam and propulsian, there were also little boat toys called "Putt Putt's" that displayed this, try "www.sciplus.com" for the mad scientist in you !

The simplest boat is a floating device, a loop of copper tube, and a candle. If you look at the website, you can actually purchase a WORKING model for $12 and reverse engineer it when it arrives. :) This is the simplest design in the world for a reaction-propulsion system. It works similarly to those old percolating coffee makers (man, can you even buy those anymore?).

If you have a budget and can use pre-made parts, check out Wilesco. It is the truest form of steam engine because it has a slide valve and a double acting reciprocating cylinder. (See link)
