I love 80's videos! I would have to say "Take on Me" by A-Ha :)

I have not forgotten the video for the Flying Lizard's version of "Money (That's What I Want). One of the earliest and most innovative at the time - it has been ignored and collecting dust on some shelf somewhere. It was to video what tape loops are to music. Sorry I couldn't name a more accessible video, but it left an impression on me (even 20 years later), and it's the answer to your question.

Wow - so long ago now. Probably "Opposites Attract" by Paula Abdul. Also the one where the guy is pulled into a comic book and being chased. Can't recall the band or song name at the moment though. Memory - the first thing to go.

The first one I remember vividly was "Girls on Film" by Duran Duran. We got MTV in 1982, a year after it started, and I was so hooked on it that in high school my threat of punishment for bad grades or getting in trouble was to have my MTV disconnected. It worked -- it stayed connected through my entire youth, from age 12 to age 18 (1982 to 1988).
Lex is talking about "Take on Me" by A-Ha. Great video!!

Cuts Like A Knife by Bryan Adams is the one that sticks out to me. There may have been others, but that one is just really burned into my mind.

"Don't Come Around Here No More" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. And still to this day one of the most creative.
