I don't think that it's possible to get infected by reading text only.

viruses infect PCs by either running a certain file (that would contain the virus), or even by keeping a port open, so that an attacker can enter thru that port and "install" the virus/trojan.

Be carefull, install an antivirus and an antispyware.

Enjoy ;)

not possible because yahoo has some advanced firewalls.
however you can send virus and trojans using your emails
to people who don't have an antivirus or firewall. That is
why everybody should carry both of them. Firewall & Antivirus.

I dont think so. Because, most of the antivirus nowadays able to detect viruses or trojan at the site of entry and block them.
This only possible if the sender send certain files such as photo etc.
But, make sure you scan that received files first before opening it.

No that can't happen. Someone could get a virus through an email attachment, downloading something from the internet, flash drive, floppy, and so forth, but not from viewing yahoo answers.

It may be a possibility although Yahoo has sufficient virus protection. You insatll a standard antivirus soft ware such as Norton, AVG , Avast ( free antivirus software and Ad-aware, Ewido ( free spyware removers). You can download free softwares at

no, i don't believe so. you would have to actually download something...the virus is a program that someone has maliciously set loose, just going to yahoo and reading something is not the same as downloading,,,but the yahooserver might could be affected.

Possible, yes...But highly unlikely. Unfortunately Internet Explorer is one giant security hole. Other browsers like Mozilla Firefox are less likely to let that happen.
