I took it for a while and it worked wonders for me. I had to stop when I became pregnant, but now I'm thinking about getting back on it.
I also like Ginko-Beloba (for memory) and Ginseng (for energy)

I've used St. John's wort for years with no problems, so have many of my friends...er...you haven't specified what for...I use it for mood swings relating to hormones, basically PMS and bitchiness.
Specifically, I've used tisane teas, mild but effective, extract, very effective, a product called Chocolate bliss - extract in a chocolate base, and a product called Happy Camper. All of the above have helped me with PMS and bitchiness.
As with anything else, follow instructions and use in moderation.
Best wishes!

st johns wort can be very beneficial in some ways, especially depression and as a "protective barrier" against disease...however, you need to be careful....you cannot mix st johns wort with many things at all.......it can be dangerous and/or deadly when mixed with some otc meds.....as simple as aspirin. one of the reasons it has not been approved by fda is due to its many different reactions to other meds in different ppl. i reccommend NOT taking ANY other meds, prescribed or otc (over the counter) when taking st johns wort abd vice versa.
take good care

Yes, but after using it for a week ... I started to get "electrical zaps" (sorry, this is the only way I can describe them) in my head. I think it was screwing up the neurotransmitters in my brain ... scary stuff. I went to the doctor and he prescribed me Elivil ... muuuuch better.
