for peace you need both sides to want it.
Sorry if I sound pessimistic but I have yet to see a want for peace on the Palestinian side. That has to come first. When both sides truly want peace then they will be willing to negotiate.
I think I speak for most Jews when I say I am willing to give the Palestinians the entire west bank if I thought for a second that it would be a 100% guarantee that there would be peace. I think the Gaza pullout has shown the exact opposite happens...

Unfortunatelly, palestinians and their leaders don't want peace with Israel, if there is a peace, they'll lose all the support from the west, and all those billions of dollars, and they would have to start to work on their own, which is too hard for them. No peace until, radical arabs and muslims support an idea of destroing Israel.

Only when the Palestinians want peace and when the Arab world helps the Palestine people and not use them as political fodder.

When surrounding countries recognize Israel's right to exist. That doesn't seem to be happening in the near future, so it seems that peace is extremely far off.
