I play PS1 games every so often, but normally, since i have a PS3 I don't need my PS1 console. I still have the games. Then again, I still play my Nintendo and Dreamcast

no that's not true. PS1was popular because it was a new play gadget for the people. It must have got Sony into demand but the continuation of everything is better. The continuing ones have got more features. Maybe PS1 was a success and that is why they continued it to pave their way to success and bought up PS2 and PS3 and PS1 got Sony into a profit because it was new and the people wanted to test it. Now people know all about it and maybe now are not interestd in PS2 or PS3 etc. So the logic is- Peolples curiosity to test out new things coming up.

All depends on the game....I still have all my PS1 games...and still play some of them on occasion...

There are even some PS1 games that are selling for 100s of dollars as collectors items
