Its so much easier especially since someone can get addresses and phone numbers for anyone regardless if they are listed or not in the phonebook free of charge just need to know where to look You can't hide from me anymore hahahaha

also could hack into their emails and other personal files but not everyone keeps the good stuff on the computer

It makes it easier to stalk someone as you can get access to alot of personal information and use that at your leisure. It can also eradicate alot of social rules that we usually take for granted. Suddenly shy people become talkative, because they don't have to face someone, so people will persist with things because they don't physically have a person in front of them telling them to stop.
Also the people we 'meet' virtually are very much (for the most part) in our imagination we often interpret what some people say (even if they are being honest) and draw our own conclusions. We might get pictures of them but for the most part we depend on what is written to build a picture of what that person is like.

The Internet does make the gathering of information to "stalk" somebody more convenient. However, the degree of temptation is completely based on the stalke... I mean person in question.
