you might not find any specialist doctors on answers at any given time, so i suggest you go to the ER or nearest 24 hour clinic. it could be serious. good luck.

If it is a cyst, then there tends to be a patern in when you get these sharp pains like a certain time every month. I have had sooooo many problems with being a female that it is not funny. When I had a cyst (3 diff. times) they told me to take ibprophen for the pain as needed. They rupture on their own. (This made me pass out.) Other than that, I dont know what to tell you. Warm baths and thermacare wraps always help though. If it is a cyst, you probably will need an ultrasound to tell. Hope this helps.

what are you doing when these pains come on? Do you feel like you have to pee and then when you try to pee it burns and nothing really comes out? (that would be a sign of a urinary tract infection). When was your last period? Is the pain on either one or the other sides of your uterus? if it's been about 10 to 15 days since the first day of your last period then you probably are ovulating. Otherwise it sounds like you probably have a cyst. One more thing that I can think of is to ask if you had sex since the last time you had your period? Nobody has said this but you (if you have had sex since your last period) may have a tubal pregnancy. In any case if the pain is so severe that you can hardly move or stand upright you should get yourself to the hospital. Hope this helps.

Could be anything ranging from Endometriosis to pelvic inflammatory disease to a cyst to adenomyosis to a kidney/bladder infection. Hard to tell; best to see a doc. You should be seeing your gyn annually anyway if you are over age 13 (the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends that girls schedule their first visit to a gynecologist between the ages of 13 and 15 and go at least 1x annually when they are 18 or sexually active, whichever comes first). It's important to obtain effective reproductive health care. Anyway - signs of an ovarian cyst are pelvic pressure, fullness, pain in the abdomen, dull ache (even in the lower back and thighs), problems with passing urine completely, pain during sexual intercourse, painful menstrual periods and abnormal bleeding, nausea and/or vomiting and if ruptured, excruciating and debilitating pain. There are several different kinds of cysts, ranging from endometriomas to dermoids to polycystic ovaries. Diagnosis may be through sonogram or in some cases surgery, and treatment depends on the kind of cyst. If your pain is uterine and not ovarian, it may be more likely to be Endometriosis or dysmenorrhea. A visit to your gyn will help diagnose and treat the source of your pain. Good luck and feel better.

it could be a cyst. cysts are benign (not cancer), but they could cause serious problems if they rupture. however, it maybe nothing of the kind. if you only feel it once a month, between periods, you may actually be feeling yourself ovulate. also, you know that between periods, your body builds up a uterine lining, and blood supply in preparation for pregnancy...this lining is shed each month, or should be...you may be feeling it as pieces come loose. the thing is, your doctor needs to know, in case it is something that could be or turn into something serious. it is not fun to go to the gyn, but the alternative could be a lot worse.

Probably ovulation. some women have pain during ovulation.
Could also be a urinary tract infection or bladder infection. The only way to really find out is to go to the doctor. If the pain is unbearable and is accompanied by a fever or nausea or vomiting...go to the Emergency room.
