Good freeware programs are called trackers. One of my favorites is Buzz. Also known as Jeskola Buzz. Here is a link: http://www.buzzmachines.com/. And from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeskola_Buzz. It is fun to play with, totally free, and has a large community of people still using it. The main issue with making electronic music is finding a source of sound. Typically, there are two sources. Samples are short sound clips of instruments, or environmental sounds. These can be played back faster or slower than they were recorded to get different notes. Another source is analog, which can be completely generated digitally by your computer. An example of this would be a pure sine wave. Buzz, has many user written sound sources, based on both samples and analog sources.

You need to make some money if you want to becomes serious about this. Your best bet is find studios in your area, apply for jobs, volunteer your time, explain to them your desire, most places would be glad to have a 'mule' around.

There are a thousand sites that offer freeware but most probably don;t work too well. You should consentrate on your future in this and setting yourself up to be in a good position.

Ya, there's alot of diffferent software to make your own sounds.
Don't know the names, but just go to Comp USA or Best BUY or
somewhere like that. Plus you can always get a little synthisizer
at a pawn shop. Just to play with. But I do know there are programs for that music install. Have Fun!!
