An electrified acoustic is no different than an un-electrified one in the way it plays. Good brands are: Gibson, Fender, Takamini, Yamaha, Ovation, Martin, Carvin...etc. My Ovation acoustic is electrified.

Well as said before an acoustic/electric is the same not plugged in. however some are voiced to sound great plugged in which they accomplish nicely but they sound like crap natural. Check out musiciansfriend.com it will give you some ideas plus they have starter packs and everything else under the sun. I have a Washburn D-100 It sounds good doesn't hold tune real great but I think its the strings that came on it. Advice don't get an acoustic just because you feel that's what you have to learn on. I learned on electric yes I have sloppy fingering but hey I primarily play electric. I play acoustic to stretch my fingers and try to give them more strength. What ever floats your boat though.

well when i started i had a acoustic, because the strings are harder to handle than the electric. after u manage to play fluently the acoustic u are welcomed to get any electric guitar u want...
i recommend u get a fender strat or a ibanez...(ibanez are lighter than the fender, im gettin one soon) the only thing thing is that fender brands have a better quality than ibanez, also u can get a wireless amp...
