Having an MBA is the best investment anyone can make in their career. You can be qualified for just about any job. Some jobs require the specific degree but other require the Masters level training to qualify.
I have had my MBA for about 15 years and have enjoyed an exceptional career, by the grace of God, of course.
Having a degree is not the point it is having the ability, confidence and "stick to itiveness" that any career requires.
Know what you want to do first and why you want to do it. It is an expensive investment and if your motives are not clear you will be disappointed with your decision.
Close your eyes and envision the environment where you see yourself working, the people who you will be working with and what type of clothes you will be wearing while being in this environment and with these people.
Do you need an MBA to have this vision become a reality or do you need something else?
Check out the Book, Instant MBA and read the subject matter. It is a versatile degree and helpful in managing a business or career no matter what one ends up doing.
It is vital that you visit an employment agency in your area and see what the Labor Market has to offer. What is the entry-level wage for a person with an MBA. Are there any apprencieship programs available, are you going to make enough money to pay for student loans, transportation, and all the rest? Will your family support your decision. Are there any employers who will pay for college once your work a probationary period. Do some homework and you will make a better decision.
Speaking to the school is not as helpful because they have an interest in telling your what a fabulous career you will have if you sign up with them.
Good luck

You can join a corporate and start from the bottom hoping to gwt quicker promotions because you've done the MBA - however it would depend on the policy of the individual corporate.
The nature of the job would be in accordance with your specialization in your Masters degree.
You could also go into:
1. lecturing, teaching subjects connected with what you've learnt,
2. Your own business
3. An unrelated field like acting if you feel you want to do that. (the degree will not be of much use here - but it wont restrict you from doing this)

This is partly a response to the person who said that the job market is the same he would just be better educated. I run a small construction business and am in the middle of an MBA program. The "education" which he so quickly writes off, helps me to increase my income on a daily basis. I have implemented numerous, management, organizational, and accounting practices which increase my bottom line. If you can do this for yourself, or another organization, your value increases. The piece of paper also carries significant value in the workplace. Anyone who tells you education will not aid you in success is probably uneducated.

I have been accepted to an MBA program, but turned them down after realizing that the job market is relatively the same after two more years in college all that would change is I would be in more debt and better educated. I think you would be better off figuring out what you like to do and go for that. I just found a job I love, but doesn't pay allot, however after some time I think I will find my mark. Good luck on yours.

We are forever becoming a more global market. Everyone has an mba. Less people get the International Business degree. I think it would be more valuable, especially considering the economic "outsourcing" and the major import/export markets.

It officially allows you much more flexibility with the English langauge. With an MBA you are allowed to randomly split infinitives, use adjectives as nouns and nouns as verbs and even invent completely new words! It is a wonderful qualification to have.

The best job if you have those knowledge will be in the marketing field with the best challenges in outsmarting your customer for orders.
If it is a desk job those knowledge will stay in the cold room for good in planet of apes.
