I want to buy a game console for my 11 years old. Which one should I buy PS2 and Wii?

I want something that is good value for money. This is the first game console for him. He already had gameboy but it is too small.

I would suggest a PS2 because it has a lot more games and you can buy an Eye Toy which is like the Wii because it lets you be the controller and the games are interactive. The PS2 is also a lot easier to understand and there are more of them being sold. There aren't very many Wiis, making them kind of expensive. The PS2 also plays DVDs. I don't think the Wii can, although I don't know much about the Wii. It seems weird to me.

Get him a Wii. Its games are based for kids that age. It'll be perfect. The ps2 does have more games, but they are aimed toward older kids with more games with violence. the wii will have more Mario games, and others like that.

well i mean money wise you should get a ps2 the games will be pretty cheap since its old, now if you want to keep up with the new you could get a wii, it will at a pretty reasonable price $250 and he'll get a kick out of it by moving the remote, my little brother got one and he really enjoyed it, well anyways good luck and best of wishes!

I would recommend the PS2 since there are more games for it. Technically it's not as "hip" as the Wii, but at least there's more he'll be able to play. And it's cheaper!

I'd stick with a PS2. Because with a Wii there are two controllers, and it could be flung around and into something expensive and breakable. -- Then again so is the PS2, but I'd stay with it.

As his first I'd get him a PS2 because new games cost 50 - 60 dollars and the PS2 has alot of older cheaper games he would like alot and will be easier for you to afford.

I say the Wii because eventually he's gotta get into the 3rd generation and if it was me when i was 11 years old i would feel horrible inside getting a 2nd gen when the 3rd generation consoles are out.
