That would involve someone to share the new traditions with. My children are grown and I've lived alone a long time. I like the ritual of decorating the Christmas tree while listening to Christmas music, cooking, and talking. I like decorating inside and outside, and then celebrating the efforts! I like driving around at night with someone special looking at Christmas lights while listening to Christmas music and talking. I like having friends and family over for food and movies at the holidays. I could go on and on.

A tradition we have is on Christmas eve we buy bags and fill them with cat litter then light candles for all of our loved ones pets included who have gone on before us the candles burn all night it makes us cry but is healing at the same time. also people should adopt a family if they can afford to last year when my daughter died I was mostly already done Christmas shopping. i asked arounf for a family that had alot of kids and maybe not so good of a Christmas coming a friend found one with six children mom and dad both working but struggling. i then asked each of my grandkids to choose a toy that I had already got them for Christmas to put in the box and all of my other kids donated toys and gifts for mom and dad we then signed a card to you from an angel in heaven. it was nice for all of us I usually just adopt a child or two off the angel tree but I liked this better and it allowed us as a family to share together.

I know at christmas time it is suppossed to be traditional, but nowadays traditions are gone and we need to start new ones. I would like to start a traditin where I would take my kids each year and let them pick out an ornament that represents how they pictured themselves that year. Then write why they picked that ornament. Then each year when they pick they pick a new one, we would take out the old one and they would read what they wrote about last year and compare how different their ornament is this year.

I would start the Christmas is A WEEK!NOT A DAY tradition. That way,we can enjoy our favorite time of the year for a whole week and trade presents longer. That means 7x the presents you'd usually get,WOW!

Yes...

People actually NOT exchanging gifts for the holidays.

I would like to see that tradition end, and a new tradition of community service begin...

If we took all that time, money & energy we spend shopping & indulging in our own greed... and instead decided to give back...

We could change the world...

I'm willing to start with me....

When you open a present, don't rip the wrapping paper. Take it off carefully and give it back so I can use it again.
