If you don't need or want to run Aero ... your lappy will run it just fine .... I had it running on an AMD 1300 - 512ram - with a 20GB hdd and 32mb integrated graphics ....
But you're better off sticking with XP for now .... for all it's bells and whistles ... Vista just isn't that much better to warrant an upgrade ...Yet

Yes, because your PC has the minimum requirement for Vista. However you need to upgrade some of the components on your pc because it will barely run Vista, even without the eye candy GUI. A video card with at least 256 Mb of RAM is the first thing you should be thinking about. Next you need a bigger HDD, because it's too small --- 80GB at least. Increase the amount system memory to at least 1GB is also a good idea.

I don't believe windows Vista is ready to run on any machine well !!!
It's too new, should not have been released from BETA yet, it's not ready, it is full of dozens of bugs
and will not be smooth running for a long time.
Stick with windows XP with Sp2. It is now running smoothly with IE6 SP2
If it aint broke, don't fix it....you might wind up with lots and lots of problems like others that are UNloading too new Oses and Applications. Wait a long while before switching.

Nope, it needs a minimum of Radeon 9600 to run with 128MB of course.
But the others are still ok though.
