How to make a warmup CD?

I am trying to make a warm up CD for my bball team.How do I make the song shorter? Do I need any kind of software? All I want is half the song or even less then that.please anyone help me! thank you.

Turn it into a wav file and just use the editor in the recorder: start>all programs>accessories>entertainment>sound recorder.
