Go for it.

1 - There are a lot of people returning to college of all ages. At 22 you wouldn't even raise an eyebrow.

2 - Your maturity in addition to the fact that you are choosing to go to school (as opposed to doing it because it's expected) will put you in the top tier of students

3 - You'll only be 26-ish when you graduate. That still gives you plenty of time to get established in whatever you choose to do (which you will have a better idea of b/c of your real-world experience)

hope this helps

No, not at all! The median age of most college students is 25, so you're right on track. If you are anxious about it, almost every college has an "adult student re-entry center", although it may have a different name at different schools. Their only job is to help people who haven't been in school for a few years.

I've worked at my university for 23 years now. We have students who are 14 (Honest!) and students who are 80. All get along, and everyone learns from one another. Please don't think of the age of a student like when you were in high school. In college, this doesn't matter a bit.

Good luck, and you will do great! You will find that your work experience will actually add value to your education. You just need the confidence to try.

studying is on no account a waste of time. Sucide is an extremely egocentric act and that i'm hoping you think again it out of admire to the those that do love you! there are a number of human beings in college who're not classic scholars. My dad became into 40 years previous while he choose back to college. He have been given his degree and earns an extremely good residing. He too felt such as you probably did (approximately being the oldest guy or woman interior the class) so he took night instructions. the human beings there have been older and greater centred and did fairly properly and enjoyed it. Granted once you graduate, you wont be waiting to get specific jobs yet there will be plenty jobs which you're able to do inspite of a legal! have you ever theory approximately getting a job the place you could help human beings a job in counseling the place you should propose others against doing the fairly some issues which you probably did once you have been youthful? possibly you could purely pass back to college to take some business enterprise instructions so as that start up your guy or woman business enterprise the place you will possibly be your guy or woman boss, you should purchase some backyard mowers and and start up a backyard care business enterprise or different factors and start up a janitorial business enterprise. there are a number of roles which you should CREATE for your self. you should even attain back and help some others that are presently on your subject. You commited a theft! You paid your debt and society has forgiven you (or you does not have been released). Now it's time to do what you're able to do to make your existence what you prefer it to be. you're able to try this. Please do not kill your self. Others are consistent with you. Your question became into o.k. written so that's obvious which you at the instant are not stupid. it may well be your destiny which you're to help somebody else or thousands of somebody elses. you're able to try this!

Don't sell yourself short.

If anything you will find that the age difference (and frankly you won't likely find that to be the case anywhere but in your own mind) will HELP you rather than be an obsticle.

In my own experience, I started college at 17 and graduated at 24. A small matter of the need to work full-time to afford to have a roof over my head was a powerful motivator.

As for the folks in my classes - they ranged from 16 to in their 70's. The folks that were the most trouble were the older ones.

They had more life experience to draw from, and were far less likely to be intimidated. "Old age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill" Take it to heart.

If you want to go to college... GO. But be prepared to pay the price to make the most of it. At the end of the day it's all a matter of what's IN your head, NOT HOW OLD IT IS.

I taught college classes part time for 18 years and I loved it!! People of all ages come back to school. I saw an 84 year old lady begin college when I was taking classes. She was a BLAST to sit beside! DO NOT worry about it. Decide what you want to do and GO FOR IT!! You can begin anew right now. You are very young. I hope that all goes well in your choice here. Have a great holiday!!

You are not to old! Go for it, this will be the best thing for you!! I started college right out of high school and I am 21 and still a sophmore. There are people older than you who want to go back to college and do!! My mom is 45 and just started. You can do it. College is not like high school. Nobody cares what your age is. You will do well and succeed!!

Are you serious? There are people in their 50s going to college for the first time. If you're smart, you'll go now while the math and science principles are still fresh in your head.

Don't worry about whether you're too old, just focus on your goal. If you show up for class, pay close attention, interact with your professor, and study hard, you'll be alright. Most people drop outt of college for one of three reasons: 1) They can't afford it 2) They don't have the time and 3) they don'tt want bad enough.

If you have the money (or loans), rudimentary academic knowledge, and the determination, you'll make it.

ha ha 22 is still very college age....go now, go now I repeat go to college now. You will only get older, and then it will be weird. I regret not going to school when I got out of the Navy at 22. I thought I was to old and mature to hang with college kids. I would have done fine and made friends of all ages. Dont miss this experience.

don't worry about it my friend....I started school at 18 and then went for a couple years, dropped out and didn't start again until i turned 24---I finished my 4 year degree at the age of 28 and then went on to start my masters. All i have to say is that age is not a factor....in some of my undergrad classes i had people in their 50's and 60's....
just stick with it and you'll be fine.

No way dude, its never too late to start college. I'm twenty and there's a guy that lives on my floor at Michigan State University who's 26. There are people of all ages. Any college is better than no college at all.
