Depends on how wise one is.
I chose career and baby I was good. The career is gone, but thanks to my wife, my marriage is still here.
Careers don't have cold feet to hold between your calfs at night. Careers make lousy shopping partners in holy day crowds.
Careers produce few kids to call home, ask you to read a story, or eat the last p iece of cake.
Careers can't go to church with you, bowling with you, or watch the fire with you.
Careers can satisfy the ego to a point, but never the heart.
