consumers have money $$$
consumers buy stuff $$
consumers listen to radio, watch TV, and read
companies want consumers to buy their products $$$$
Companies hire advertisers to come up with ad campaigns to convince consumers to buy their stuff $
advertisers create specific campaigns for radio, TV, and hard copy $$
The media needs funds for operation which comes from running advertisements....
If the media comes up with a popular show, then they sell advertising time at a higher price (example Superbowl)
