Why is it that when an African american singers (such as Patti labelle or Fantasia) Belt and sing loudly and hit powerful high notes in full voice do people from other races say they're screaming? Most African American voices are louder and more powerful...so why do a lot of people say that belting is screaming?

because they are jealous and wish they could have at least a tenth of the beautiful voice some African American women singers have

Now I feel embarrassed for doing so, ha.
I say it as a compliment; I guess when I say it in those terms, to me, it's synonomous with "belting." Screaming just has a stronger effect. Usually when I'm saying, "Wow, she/he can really scream that note," I just mean that she/he can hit it exactly as you're describing it... louder and more powerful. As a singer-songwriter, I can tell you that I've always admired and envied the voices of many Africans.
And I will make sure to use the term "belt" from now on.

Maybe its because of the different perspectives of music. When you're used to listening to music sung a certain way, its hard to imagine anyone who doesn't love. However, not everyone listens to music the same way. I think it all depends on what you're into. Personally, i think that Patti and Fantasia are phenomenal singers and if i could sing like them i would sing everyday, but i can't lol!

Baby Ray Charles and Little Esther
Phillips.

They just don't get it. singing full voice from the diaphram is a gift.They do it wonderfully, I love Patti LaBelle.

well we could say that hard rockers are making alot of noise and not making any sense(beleve me i cant understand muchless listen to what they are saying) so its all a matter of understanding where the singer is coming from
