I am looking into doing home inspections for insurance companies. I have a extensive construction and maintenance background. Is this a hard profession to get into and is it true it can pay better than 40 dollars per hour.

Call personnel at a couple of the insurance companies and ask about open positions and get a copy of the qualification requirements. If certifications are required it will be indicated on the job profile .
good luck

YES... The pay is great. Find a company that will pay for your education & Training. In Most states you need a license of some sort (a simple insurance license). The training for these will take about 1 week and with study you should be able to test and begin work shortly afterwards. Have a great HoLiDaY!!
