If you type 50 words a minute and are fast at 10 key, you can get a low pagying job as a secretary or something.

Janitorial. Fast food worker. Cashier at a store. Car Wash. Waitstaff. Bartender. Security guard. Stocker (in a store). Butcher (apprentice) . Sweatshop (factory). Warehouse worker. Truck loading. Taxi Driver.

Truck Driver (must train for a few weeks at a school to get your CDL first.).

Military. In fact that is a great place to start a career. They will pay you, feed you, clothe you, shelter you, and train you for a job of your choice, for which their are equivalents in the civilian world. There is also the GI Bill, which will pay for college after military service (but you must remember to save all reciepts, and request and save copies of absolutely all paper work/records.

If you don't go military or Truck driving, you need college. My brother was forced to work one schitt job after another until he joined the navy.

Be well.

Don't listen to the cynics in here. Yes the chances of you getting a decent job without college degree are slim. But there are jobs out there for you.

Its really all about who you know/connections. I know alot of people who got jobs that would make a college grad cringe because they couldn't get it and a high school drop out did.

You can go into business for yourself. By becoming an entrepeneur your the boss nobody can tell you anything.

Many gov. jobs with decent wages, that only require a high school diploma. Although they are raising there standards. Before to be a cop all you needed was a high school diploma and be able to pass the exam, now they require at least 2 yrs of college. What's next, you need a degree in waste management to become a garbage collector?

There are many opportunities, though it will be difficult and you would be working at a disadvantage (because college grads will most definitely get picked over you), it is possible to succeed without a degree.

It's simply a matter of becoming an expert in your field and racking up the experience. A company would most certainly take experience over raw untested knowledge.

If you are young, go to college. Not just for the degree but for the education you will get there. It is truly priceless.

And remember to always NETWORK. Its who you know that gets you the jobs.

Good LUck to you

Regards

(Wow, people can be so encouraging...)

The first two answers are right inasmuch as you definitely can go for jobs in retail or fast food. Basically, any "entry level" job. When I first got started, my first jobs included tutoring a kid who needed help with his reading (something I have always been good at), and Michael's craft store (which is retail). Before applying to Michael's, I worked briefly at Taco Bell, which I did again to earn extra money while I was in college (in a different state).

Probably the first thing you should ask yourself is what are you good at, then think of companies that do that.

Hope this helps!

It really depends on what you have a passion to do.

Just remember, the job market is very competitive and obtaining a degree from a college or university can increase your chances in finding a job that pays well at a competitive wage or salary.

You may want to consider taking some courses at a junior college on a part-time basis while you are finding work.

Talk to your guidance counselor at school and ask him or her what the best career path you can take depending on what kind of job you desire. And you may also want to research this career or job beforehand so you can get an idea of what is available.

Hope this helps.

God Bless.....

look into being a personal trainer at a gym. Its a one or two day course and you would start selling memberships to a gym and then work up a cliental to start training. Money is 10-15$ an hour once your in the swing of things. Good luck.

Not much honestly. If you take business classes in school, you could possibly answer phones somewhere, or work retail at the mall. Either way, you're looking at minimum wage forever.
