Most breast cancers are initially asymptomatic. This is why doctors recommend self-examination and, once women reach certain age, regular mammograms.

The most common symptom identified by a patient herself will be a new lump in the breast. A bloody nipple discharge is also a potential sign of breast cancer. A few breast cancers are inflammatory, and the breast feels hot as if there was an infection. Any of these associated with lumps in the armpit ("axillary lymph nodes" ) should be mentioned to a physician.

The causes of cancer all involve loss of control of cell proliferation, typically due to a mutation in DNA. Some of these are inherited (BRCA1 and BRCA2); some are acquired.

1) There are physical symptoms, like the feeling of a lump on the breast. You can do this on your own or get a yearly mammo.

2)My opinion is that cancer of any organ is basically a psychoemotional one, ie, if you have unresolved issues with highly charged emotions underneath it, you are likely to place a lot of that kind of stress on your cells, thereby somatising your emotions, having them go into your cells, making it toxic in time. I'm not saying you shouldn't get angry, but, if you have anger, deal with it, resolve it in any way you can. Today, many people are using 'positive thinking' (only) to dismiss real anger issues that lies lurking beneath, being pushed further into the cells, in time. I don't disagree with 'positive thinking', but, that is not the only way to deal with a lot of accumulated anger.

What do you think?
