Because when you meet the girls, you really click. They're an instant group of friends. It's a great way to get involved on campus because most girls are also involved in other activities such as sports or SGA.

SOME people will fit the stereotypes. Many people won't. I suggest that you rush and try it out for yourself. If you don't like the girls then you don't have to have anything to do with them. If you do like them, and you still don't want to join, you've made some friends.

And no, you're not paying for friends, you're paying dues to have parties, raise money for charity, and live in the house just like you'd pay dues for any organization.

Not all women who join sororities are shallow.

At first, I wasn't going to join anything in college, but when I found a sorority that prided themselves on high academics and community service--it was right for me.
