we can't do that, inside EARTH is extremely HOT!!!
there are also different layers and two cores, inner core and outer core(extremely HOT)
the rock won't go through because it will melt before it gets to the other side

NO,we cant do that now?
But if we suppose that it is done & we drop a stone into that hole than it will burn out or melt down while passing through the centre of the earth due to very high temperature.
if we suppose that there is no heat then there is a very interesting situation---
the stone will fall toward the centre of earth &then move to the other side through the tunnel.
surprisingly it will not move out of the hole but will again move back to the centre of the earth due to its gravitational pull.
it will thus keep on moving this way(oscilating) for infinitely long time(POOR STONE,my best wishes for it)

we are not able to make a hole through the diameter of the earth because the temperature gradient increases 1 degree for every 31meters. Man had landed on moon 37 years ago but he cannot go beyond 8 km mark into the earth. it was neglegible with respect of diameter of the earth which was around 12700 kms.

No.For coming centuries.Ahe answer is not because of the ascemding temperature gradient. But crossing vary high temperature is a fact though the range is not at all consistently high beyond a certain point.Actually there is very little knowledge about the centre of the Earth. Most of it is conjectural. However, in distant future, it is possible.

I would also think that the earth's gravitational field would pull the stone down to the center but then that is where it would stop. Gravity would be strongest at the center and not allow the stone to progress past the center point.

you cant do that! it gets hotter and the pressure gets worse as you go deeper. the core of the earth can go past 11,000 degress Farenhiet! and the pressure in the core is so bad, the heat cant melt it, the core is very hard!
