What do you mean by "overcome?" Do you mean that you want to eradicate racism? Do you mean that you want to get rid of the advantage whites have in so many areas of life (i.e. standardized testing)? Do you mean how can you become "privileged?" Do you mean how can you NOT be "privileged?"

White privilege is societal. It's not something that can be "overcome" by one person. It's something that requires change on a very large scale. As with any societal problem, one person can make a change in his or her life and encourage another person to do the same. We can hope for a ripple effect that will eventually change the country and the world, but it takes time. Start by reading. Check out the sociology section of your local bookstore. It's a great start.

By removing "race" from all these corporate and government forms, be judged purely by abilities and effort, not appearance or ethnicity. Affirmative action is still race based discrimination and the short term benefit causes a negative long term effect, especially when someone promoted because of their minority status proves ineffective and discredits all others in their classification to the rest of us. It also means when a person who excells and gets promoted for their work gets written off as just a beneficiary of affirmative action. And if "white privelege" exits, then why can't a 6'2" blonde haired blue eyed white male of average build with a regents diploma, passes all physicals and drug tests and with no criminal record can't get a better job than $8 an hour?
Maybe the above guy is right, and they should legislate all children be of inter-racial relations, but I bet, due to human nature or "political correctness", they would still find one group to discriminate against in favor of another.
