Gandhi had absolutely no self-respect, and he had no respect for his country. The only thing he wanted as an India full of eunuchs and sheeps.
If India was alive today; and he learned of the wars with paki land; India's nuclear arsenal; India's booming economy and increasing wealthy elites, Of course he wouldn't be happy.
He wanted Indians to be tramps for the rest of their existence.
