I saw this movie a rather long time ago on a classic movie channel, but I don't remember what movie it was, and I can't remember much about it, other than that it was pretty good. The man was trying to leave, and the girl was trying to stop him from leaving the house/cottage

If it wasn't "Neptunes Daughter". It was also sung by Bette Midler in the film "For The Boys", with James Caan. These are the only two I know of.
