How much would that model cost? New or used? I don't care if it's "outdated", my mp3 player holds like 40 songs and is kinda broken...

First of all i would't get an ipod.
Get a mp3 player.
I have seen 6GB mp3 players anywhere from $100-$200
That should be plenty amount of memory. and the amount of songs is can hold can very a lot. It depends on the lengths of songs and the file type (normally mp3. or wma.) wma. files are normally smaller. so the estimates that ipod and mp3 players give are normally wrong. also on your current mp3 player do u even listen to all 40 songs you have on it. don't spend a bunch of money on space you don't need. i have a 512mb (1/2GB) and that is just fine for me. I also don't like messing with itunes. Windows Media player is much better and easier.

The biggest ipod is an 80gb video ipod. it is not outdated, it was first released in september of 2006 (about 3 months ago). the 80 gb is quoted for 20,000 4 minute songs. with up to 20 hours of battery life in one charge. this costs approx 350 USD new (349.99 exactly)

These ipods are known to scratch easily, due to glossy finnish and also are known to have dieing batteries, and since the battery is only rechargeable, and not replace able, it only has a limited charges (300-500)
