I live in Chicago, and a local pizza place here makes pizzas in frozen containers that they ship all over the country. They ship to Alaska and Hawaii as well. Is it possible to ship one of these frozen containers to Poland? The containers are sealed and insulated to stay frozen.

Yes, it's possible. But because Poland is in EU anything based on agrarian products would be subjected to so called entrence price. Meaning that the product can't be sold under a certain set price while entering the market. Some companies go around that by establishing subsidiaries within EU so for all the purposes the products entering the market are already european and thus not subject of those prices. They will have to be up to EU standards though in any case.

Yes it is possible . The biggest container line in the world is MAERSK LINE and they have the best reefer containers with the latest technology and best insulation . They are a very big company in the US and they have offices all around the country .
There website is www.maerskline.com
But before shipping you may need to check in Poland if the authorities there have a special requirements for importing food .

No problems- there are plenty of food products imported here. Of course it depends on the purpose- if it is one small container then the customs people may help. If it is for commercial purposes then you have to abide with a Zillion rules and regulations -some from the EU and some Polish.
In this case contact the Embassy's trade attache or the chamber of commerce and ask for instructions.
OTOH would it not be cheaper just to make the pizzas inside Poland? just make sure you have the recipe correct.

I would think so, but the best way to find out is call the post office, or go there, and ask what the regulations are. some countries have regulations about food items entering their country.
